20 | www.solen.cz Závěr UTI patří k nejčastějším urologickým one- mocněním. Terapie bývá obtížná, zejména u recidivujících infekcí. Registrovaná léčiva rostlinného původu mohou pacientům při- nést značnou úlevu. Je možné je užívat jako primární terapii i v kombinaci s antibiotickou léčbou. Výhodou léčiv rostlinného původu je minimum vedlejších účinků, nicméně je nezbytné důsledně rozlišovat registrovaná léčiva a doplňky stravy, u nichž není jasné složení ani jejich účinek. Slibné výsledky uka- zují studie, kdy rostlinné extrakty, zejména silice, zvyšují účinek antibiotické léčby, ať už znemožněním adheze patogenů na sliznice, zamezením bakteriální komunikace, omeze- ním tvorby biofilmů nebo jinými mechanismy.
